Ah! the lazy days of summer, there's nothing like em. The longs days of summer just seem to get the creative juices a flowing. If your in a photographic rut, use this summer to try something new like shooting with camera settings that are the opposite of what you would normally choose.
For example, if you usually shoot telephoto, try shooting wide angle, if you usually shoot wide angle try telephoto. You can even mix it up a little, by shooting at the extreme aperture settings on your lens. (Smallest aperture, or the largest aperture)

What ever you do, just remember to have fun.

You never know, you just may find a technique you like better!
